Looking for my retirement toy and would love to own a 246GT. One the loveliest cars ever built and a joy to drive, albeit rather slow in a straight line. My Dad had a 206GT when we lived in Italy 1971-4. I have owned mid-engine V-8 Ferrari's, V-6 Maserati Merak, and many Jaguar's. I kind of hoped the Dino's would come down in price but they haven't and I have moved on because technology has moved on. Comparisons made in other comments (Fiesta, Civic, etc.) are silly and irrelevant. Hell my son's '92 MR2 Turbo blows the doors off a 206/246 Dino but that isn't the point.
What I have moved on to is buying a 2011-2014 Lotus Evora S that I expect be able to buy for $35K - $50K. Mid-engine 345HP RELIABLE V-6 and a better car in every respect than a Dino except maybe in the subjective category of looks. As it stands today I would buy the Evora over a Dino even if the prices were the same but at $250K to $400K for the Dino it isn't even a consideration.

427..... how on earth is the fact that a modern car is faster embarrasing? The Dino is over 35 years old and in its day it was a fast car..... the comparison with a modern car is meaningless. You may as well compare what somebody earned 35 years ago to today..... is $25k in 1973 compared to say $50k now embarrasing? Go and look at some of the other cars of similar age and power.... you wont find many that were much quicker than the fezza.

I have added some pictures of that slow oldtimer taken around the corner of my home... it is owned by a Ferrari dealer in Frankfurt Germany and was in my town for a oldtimer meeting.
Who cares if small cars of today are faster... during their time cars like the Dino, 300SL, E-Type were the dream of every petrol head... even today this car looks stunning in realty

Max, it was beaten by a Camry. No matter how fast it was, it's embarrasing.
