Mercedes Benz AMG SLS Black Series apparently on the dyno!

Mercedes Benz AMG SLS Black Series SPANKS the Ford Shelby GT500!

There are no winners or losers though, both are incredibly impressive machines.

Corvolet3  3y ago

11.6 seconds quarter mile for both cars. Interesting comparison

what is the horsepower for this car?

User avatar

sls black slower than a bmw m8 competition faster and better looking

An SLS amg black series could've been even more quicker if it was an AWD ( all weel drive ) but thanks to Mercedes for an SLS black series , its such an admirable machine

fakekiller, 180 kph is 112 mph, so 110 mph times are too optimistic and should not be added as 180 kph times.

The allowed substitution are:

0-50 mph as 0-80 kph, as 80 kph equals:49.709 mph and 50 mph is actually more than the kph equivalent.

I am not going to delete all the 0-130, 0-180 and 0-50 kph times based on mph tests, which are already added.

But I suggest not to add them in future. Lets be more precise! There are plenty of European tests with plenty of accurate 130, 180, 50 etc times which are yet to be added!

Somewhat, But no.

Lets just say I work for a company that, Offers clients who can afford them, certain benefits, And its My job to show the clients who are interested, a "Good" time, That way they do business with us. And a lot of them are EXTREMELY paid, That's one of the reasons I get to enjoy some of these rather expensive cars. You don't se these people rolling up in Kia Rios.. But id rather not go into full detail about what I do.

User avatar

saxy  11y ago

I'm sure a stock broker would have a lot of rich clients XD

User avatar

lafars  11y ago

@BR2

What is your job anyway given that you talk about clients who can afford expensive cars?

Or a better question, what is everyones job?

I'm still in school educating myself as a car mechanic

User avatar

BR2+  11y ago

Ive been able to get behind the wheel of an SLS due to a client owning one...And it is no easy car to control by any means, These things are Tyre Murder, And I would expect the BlackSeries to timex that by a few.

User avatar

saxy  11y ago

every drive talks about this car having less torque than the standard SLS, so it is easier to control. But because it's lighter... actually, torque/weight, it's actually more torque to handle

My friend did 10.4 @ 132 in a stock Black Series at a dragstrip on original tires. Unfortunately, no video. :(

While I know full well that drag strips improve traction, I have a hard time believing that one. You realize to get that type of ET with that trap speed he would of had to pull a 1.5X 60 foot time, which is unheard of on a regular street tire.

User avatar

I dont think so. And i dont agree that 911 Turbo has better 0-60 time than the Aventador. They are pretty qual.

User avatar

saxy  11y ago

1600kg is considerably less than the aventador. The Porsche has a better launch 0-60, as well the Porsche is a whole lot smaller and aerodynamic than the big Lambo.

If the Porsche had 620hp, it would hit 200kph under 9 seconds guaranteed. But it doesn't =)

User avatar

dddd  11y ago

@Saxy i dont agree. 600 hp/1600 kg and 0-200 in less than 9s ?

Havent you heart that Porsche downplays power figures ? Everyone hearts that.

Hehe i dont want a dragster :) but in my opinion F12 should be faster.

User avatar

奔  11y ago

Yes, 212 kph!

User avatar

I have heart that 997 Turbo has for real about 545 hp, 997 Turbo S about 580 hp. How much has 991 Turbo S ? I think about 620 hp.

If any Porsche turbo had nearly 600hp with AWD PDK launch, it would hit 200kph under 9seconds. For now, it still takes 10 seconds, so no chance. A Ferrari 458 with 570hp, with a much slower 0-100kph time (down nearly 1/2 a second) gets to 200kph under 10 seconds. The Porsche has a ton of torque but it's certainly not overachieving its power figures really.

User avatar

奔  11y ago

Hoping for a 10.8 @ 127. :D

User avatar

saxy  11y ago

you keep saying the F12 doesn't have enough power, yet every journalist who HAS driven the car says it has too much.

If you want a dragster, get a dragster.

User avatar

dddd  11y ago

That is why F12 achieved bad acceleration's times.

I wait for good times. But it is boring...

User avatar

Hamcee  11y ago

weird video.
no launchcontrol, manual shifting.

doesnt really show the complete potential of the car
