I was actually thinking about this the other day. I'm curious...
What would it be like if the 3.8L from the (997)GT3 made a return in a new Cayman R?
Kinda like the Camaro using the old Z06 motor, have the Cayman R use the old GT3 motor. Just look at what "only" the Cayman S can do :)

The diffrence in score is indeed beceause of wet laptime and because not accurate 0-200 time.
They are basicle equal fast.
Cayman with just that 3.8 form 991 GT3, it would fit there without any big constuction changes.
It even doesnt have to have 475 hp, just give it 420, and it would be like mini 458.

I think there is nothing surprising in the fact that the Cayman S a bit faster on the track, since the basic Carrera is not positioned as a model for track. It gives you much more ride comfort, practicality and functionality than the Cayman S.
As of such a large difference in scores - this is due to the time on Suzuka track and bad 0-200 for Carrera. In reality basic 911 Carrera Coupe on the straight line is a bit faster than the Cayman S, Targa and Cabriolet are slower.

Now, imagine Cayman with Turbo S motor..... versus a Nissan GT-R...
